What's New in the West End?

New West End District Signage Project

The West End Association's newest project is to revitalize and upgrade signage announcing your arrival into the historic West End. The existing black metal sign in the landscaping median in front of Go Fish and Chicora Alley has been repainted. Two additional signs identical to this one are to be installed at the boundary of the West End on primary routes, one on South Main St. and the other on Augusta St near Fluor Field. The two stone signs on either side of Camperdown Way at Academy St. have also had recent landscaping improvements courtesy of the City of Greenville Parks and Recreation Department! Look for the new signs soon!

Streetscape Project

Take a look at the West End's new streetscape project featuring eleven beautiful tiles placed among the sidewalks thoughout the West End.  Local artist Suzanne Vitti is the talent behind this representation of historical and current West End themes.  Tiles featuring Chicora College and the Trolley are some of the unique visuals that visitors will be able to enjoy as they walk the sidewalks of the West End in the summer of 2009.  The tiles were paid for by a grant obtained by the West End Association with help from the City of Greenville, and the City of Greenville is providing the installation.
